DESIGN STUDIO I.III

FALL 2021

A 5-week session, Design Studio I.III was focused on applying the fundamentals of graphic design (mainly the gestalt principles). We began the course by taking 100 pictures and making 25 vectors. We then had to make three themed posters using only those assets.

Vector Poster

I decided to make my vector poster an abstract representation of the homeless population in Austin. The eyes represent the wealthy watching homeless people as they suffer.

Typographic "Y" Poster

I decided to go with the letter Y as a form of the question "why"? The flowers represent gentrification growing out of historically industrial areas.

Photo Based Poster

This poster only utilizes four photos. It represents the wealthy preventing the upwards movement of the lower class in society.
